About the Town
The lake sets the pace.
Copperbell Bay sits at the edge of Lake Michigan like a town that never quite decided to grow up and everyone who lives there is glad it didn't. The streets are narrow and unhurried. The harbor smells of pine and cold water. On clear mornings, you can hear the old copper bell at the lighthouse.
The people here have a way of knowing your name before you've told them. They'll wave from their porches, save you a seat at the diner, and ask after your family with the kind of sincerity that feels almost old-fashioned. It isn't. It's just Copperbell Bay.
The town has been here since 1887, when a handful of fishermen and their families decided the northern shore was too beautiful to leave. Their great-grandchildren still live here. So do their amazing stories.
